A large, central staircase and round glass elevator were chosen as the central focus point of the building to draw one's eye and the importance of being connected.The open collaboration space can double as a stage for events or as seating for events and studying.Student's work is displayed along the walls and underneath the stairs in easily accessible areas.A kids play area that takes notes from IKEA's Småland is incorporated to accommodate working parents who need a space to work, whether in a group or alone, while having someone watch their kids.A pay-what-you-want style coffee bar is included to acknowledge that you shouldn't be cut off from things just because of your income status.Keeping with the theme of removing income barriers, there are device lockers in the south east entrance that allow visitors to borrow a smart device while on site.
Second Floor
The second floor is where the private study spaces are located and connects to the 3 season rooftop patio.
The general layout is open in order to respond smoothly to the fluctuating needs of the ever-growing and changing community.

The open study area on the second floor has modular furniture to be adaptable to changing needs.Private study spaces are located upstairs where they can be further from the noise and allow privacy.The wall on the open collaboration space is regularly used to digitally show off student work.Natural light helps the space to feel airy thanks to the numerous windows and the skylight above the elevator.The rooftop patio allows for extended studying space and events during the warmer months.
Materials
Warm colours and natural woods are used throughout the space to represent the need for low impact, natural products.
In addition, recycled materials and fabrics are used as wherever possible.
